Well we were able to move today :-)) So off to Sitting Bull Falls. We enjoyed the drive there. At first we were in a cloud bank, but we eventually left it behind. Then the sky turned blue and was dotted with the puffy white clouds we like. Cows and their calves were grazing along the roadway. Some crossed in front of us.
As we arrived at the falls four school bus loads of school children... maybe 5th graders.. arrived too. The rangers had all sorts of programs set up for them. They had a good time and we had a good time watching them.
Sitting Bull Falls is a spring fed falls, so not a lot of water flows over it. It is still beautiful. The walk was easy and it only took a few minutes to walk to the falls. We took lots of pictures of the falls.
We listened a bit as one of the rangers or guest... not sure which... talked of raptors. They had three for the kids to look at; a screech owl, a barn owl and a red tail hawk (dark version). They are beautiful birds. I only got pictures of the red tail hawk.
We then drove back to Carlsbad and bought a burger and fries at Happy's. The burger was very large and so was our appetites.
We called our parents and then walked around the park and took pictures. I'm hoping I got a good grackle picture.
Then it was shower time. Frank talked for an hour or so with other campers on his way back. I declined and came inside and edited pictures and am now trying to update the blog as the pictures upload.
Tomorrow another adventure.
