Friday 30 April 2010

The wind rocked the trailer off and on all night. We managed to get some sleep though.

This morning we left Van Horn Texas at 9:30 am (ET). The wind was stil blowing some. It picked up as the morning went on. It hit us hard head-on as we drove on I-10 and still continues.

We bought gas at Van Horn Texas for $3.02 a gallon.

Frank's Dad called us as we were driving through the hills. We kept losing the signal. They were on I-10 in Florida on their way to Mississippi. We finally got the call through once we got through the hills.

Some dark clouds moved in and a few drops of rain came down. Traffic got heavy around El Paso Texas. Some scary times as cars/trucks cut abruptly in front of us.

There were large pecan groves along the way today in Texas and New Mexico. They look a little different than the trees back home. There were also some dairy farms. We saw different desert scenes and all were pretty.

We bought gas at Anthony Texas for $3.02 a gallon

We parked at a truck stop at the West edge of Las Cruces New Mexico for ham sandwiches in the trailer.

We arrived in Little Vineyard RV Park, Deming New Mexico at 3 pm (ET). The typical RV Park... gravel roads and few trees. We are level this time... so no boards needed under the tires. That doesn't happen often. We are in site 92. Cost is $25 with Good Sam discount.

I called Mama and it was good to talk with her.

We traveled 227 miles today.
